Zuidzande
In the middle of the vast polder landscape of West Zeeland Flanders lies Zuidzand [Suusande]. The village gets its name from sand, from 'sandbank' and south, due to its southerly location. In the 13th century, it was an island south of the former Island of Cadzand. There is a restaurant in the former Reformed Church in the village square, in the heart of the village. The church was decommissioned in 1996, making the village the first churchless village in Zeeland.
We look forward to seeing you in Zuidzande! 💛
